VEDA were appointed by Fereday Pollard Architects to act Structural Engineers for the refurbishment of an existing five storey reinforced frame building in Barking, London.

The main objective of the project was to modify the internal layouts and fenestrations to bring the accommodation up to current LU standards for train crew accommodation.

Structural works included modifications to the existing reinforced concrete ribbed slab to allow for new services opening and strengthening works to accommodate the new plant room. Other structural works included alterations to the existing building façade and external access stair to comply with current building regulations.
