The Structural Engineering team at VEDA Associates provides clients with a highly professional structural engineering consultancy service.
We work closely and cooperatively with our clients and invest time in understanding our clients’ objectives. Our responsiveness and pro-activeness help us to build long-term relationships with both client stakeholders and our supply chain partners.
We are experienced in a vast range of building types and structural materials and deliver coordinated three-dimensional designs. We deliver a wide range of projects from small extensions to new multi-storey buildings and provide the same innovative and cost-effective design approach for both.
Our qualified engineers are fully conversant with modern analytical tools, including Revit software for building information modelling (BIM). To help visualise your project we can provide high-quality 3D visuals or photomontages.
Our expertise covers:
Building Design in the retail, commercial, rail and residential sectors. Typical projects are multi-storey steel or concrete frames, portal sheds or masonry structures. The use of Finite Element tools i.e. Robot & FastTrak optimize the design and maximise structural redundancy.
Foundation Design for deep basement structures, retaining walls, mini to large diameter piles, raft foundations. Our knowledge of piling and excavation plant assist specification of the optimum piling system.
Drainage Design of new surface and foul water gravity and pumped sewers. The design of buried attenuation tanks, cess pools and pumping station.
English Heritage & Planning applications and discharge of planning and listed building conditions. Experience on the refurbishment of both Grade 1 listed buildings and railway stations i.e. Kings cross.
3D Modelling & Photomontage to emphasise the Architectural design. Our 3D images are used for both stakeholder engagement and press releases.

Recent Projects
Limehouse Station: Access For All
VEDA were engaged by Spence to deliver the GRIP Stage 5 multi-discipline design that included a lift to platform 2, platform extension, new ticket hall entrance, associated SISS & MEP and power upgrade for the lift.
VEDA proposed a novel precast concrete lift shaft to be installed through the existing structure that saved weeks on the delivery programme.
Chelmsford Station - Refurbishment/Extension
VEDA were appointed by Spence to undertake the outline and detail design for the complete redevelopment of the Station building, provision of a new staircase to platform, new entrance to platform 2, associated SISS, Fire, and MEP. The sustainable design proposed the reuse of existing structural assets that required an assessment of the existing building for the new loads.
VEDA supported the planning process and produced 3D visuals for the scheme. A full set of NR assurance documents forms F001-F003 were produced for AGA acceptance.
